Recently, I removed that earlier version and installed Surveillance Station 5. That earlier version installed a "Recordings" shared folder (which can't be removed, as explained elsewhere in this forum). I should also mention that some time ago I tried an earlier version of the Surveillance Station app, but I didn't use it much. I don't even know if changing Privilege settings would make any difference.

I suspect that my problem has something to do with my Privilege settings, but I can't figure out how to change them. I'm not even asked for login credentials in this situation: I can browse directly into and through the folder structure.

It gets even more bizarre: if I RDP into another machine on my network, I have no trouble accessing the shared folder containing the camera recordings from that other machine's Windows desktop using the Windows file explorer. It's bizarre, because I have no trouble accessing any of my other shared folders from my Windows desktop. I've tried every combination of login credentials that I've ever used anywhere, but I can't get access to the folder. When I try to do that, I'm asked for login credentials. My problem is fairly basic: I can't access the shared folder containing the camera recordings from my Windows desktop using the Windows file explorer. I've got the monitor/playback functions working OK via the QVR application. Can anyone explain what I can do to access the shared folder containing my camera recordings from the Windows desktop on my local machine using the Windows file explorer?īlake wrote:I'm running Surveillance Station 5 on a TS-219P+ (firmware version 4.1.4). Interestingly, it doesn't appear to be a system folder-I could apparently remove it if I wanted to. So, now I have a "Camera Recordings" folder in which Surveillance Station 5 records my camera's video stream. When I installed Surveillance Station 5, it invited me to change the name of the "Recordings" shared folder, and I did.
